Medical Leave for the Adopting Family
The U.S. government passed a law which mandates that certain employers give up to 12 work-weeks of unpaid leave for a child adoption placement.
The Family and Medical Leave Act
FMLA requires that an employer must grant an eligible employee up to a total of 12 work-weeks of unpaid leave during any 12-month period for the birth of a child or for a child adoption.
