Adopting Attorney

If you have decided to work with a licensed adoption agency, you do not need to worry about obtaining an attorney since the agency and/or the agency's attorney  will help you make sure all the legal issues are taken care of.  If you are proceeding with a private adoption, then you should always obtain your own attorney.

Selecting a Child Adoption Attorney

All of the parties involved in the adoption process have the right to an attorney.  Most attorneys are specialized in one or more areas, and in the area of adoption you certainly should want to have an attorney who specializes in adoption.  There is an organization consisting of the attorneys who specialize in adoption and you would be wise to consider contacting one of these attorneys.
